Ready for a clinic at SAR this summer?

We are working on putting together a really fun 2-3 day clinic at the ranch this summer. There will be a flat fee to include all days, as well as an audit fee for those that want to come without a horse. Here’s what I’m thinking, but want input from all of you!

Friday evening and Saturday = series of mini topic sessions. Some will be with active participants, some will be observation and question/answer.

Topic ideas:
Building a relationship with roundpen work

Strength/flexibility/suppling exercises in roundpen- and importance of.

Groundwork in big arena

Spooky horses/ obstacle work

Basic centered riding principles (rider biomechanics)

Stretching for riders

Checking saddle fit

Horse Behavior issues (students horses will supply the issues😊)

Sunday would be private or small group lessons all day- followed by a group trail ride around the ranch to introduce passing/rating/separation techniques.

BBQ at the ranch on Saturday night, and lunches will be included.

I’m welcoming ALL of your ideas so I can put this together to best suit everyone’s wishes and needs!

Work study students apply now!

Sabiq’s in house trainer/instructor, Celena Pentrack is accepting work study students this summer!

This position requires long days/ hard work and an absolute love of animals with a strong desire to learn. In addition to daily chores, students will work side by side with Celena in SAR’s training program. This program ranges from starting babies, conditioning endurance horses, working with behavioral issues and working to develop strong overall foundations. Basic horse handling and riding experience is required.

This is an incredible opportunity to gain an immense amount of knowledge, so we would appreciate serious inquiries only.

Compensation includes room and board, weekly lessons and a ton of fun.

Please email us with questions, for more information or to check scheduling dates.

Rock’s first big inspection!

SAR Tiki Rock On experienced his first approved sire inspection!

In an effort to expand Rock’s breeding horizons, Carol embarked on an effort to get Rock accepted as an approved Shagya sire. On April 22, 2019, Rock went through the Performance Shagya-Arabian Registry inspection process. Carol and Celena hauled Rock to Vancouver, WA for the inspection.

SAR is happy to announce that Rock passed the inspection and is now an approved PShA sire.

We would like to thank Kyle and Sarah Hockett, as well as Lois Fox for their tremendous help in preparing Rock for his inspection. SAR also appreciates our amazing trainer, Celena Pentrack, for her superb handling of Rock for his inspection, while his regular handler, Darlene Merlich, recovers from surgery. Rock appreciated all the special attention.

If you would like to book Rock as a sire to your mare, please visit our contact page and get in touch with Carol.

SAR goes to the Grizzly in the Outback Ride!

SAR Valiant Heart and Ron Sproat finished 5th and also won Best in Class. OMR Prophet and Celena Pentrack placed 3rd and were all smiles.. all day 😊. *Also pictured is Tani Bates on Flash who paired up nicely with Ron and Val*. SAR Tiki Eclipse and SAR Smokey Phantom both finished the 25 miler with Lynne Walters and Cheri Van Bebber on board, respectively.
